Valentine's Day 2018

Dearest Harper,

This is, hands down, one of my favorite pictures of you EVER. You are absolutely beautiful. How did Daddy and I get so lucky to have YOU as our girl?!

New Year 2018

Dearest Harper,

Daddy and I had plans to go to a friend's house for a New Year's party, but you got sick and we had to cancel at the last minute. This is the only picture I have of us on New Year's Day - cuddling, relaxing, and being lazy on the sofa.

I love you,

Mommy

Straight Hair

Dearest Harper,

You've been getting your hair cut for a while now. We just take you to the lady we go to, and she trims you up. Like everything, you're so good about it. Today, the person after us cancelled, so she had time to play with your hair, and decided to straighten it. We could not believe how different you looked! You looked so much older! I love your curls, but I love it straight too. You're beautiful no matter what your hair looks like!

I love you,

Mommy

Halloween 2017

Dearest Harper,

When we went costume shopping, you had no idea what you wanted to be, and decided to be everything available at least once. Finally Mommy and Daddy had to intervene, as we didn't want to spend the entire day at the costume store. You very much like Pirates of the Caribbean, and call pirates "potty woah woahs" (potty = pirate and woah woah = yo ho from the song) so we suggested the pirate costume. You were hesitant, but I made you try it on anyway. When you looked at yourself in the mirror, you smiled and said, "Ok. I be Spiderman next time."

This was the first year you trick or treated in our neighborhood. Michael came over, as did Kady and Everett, one of the doctors I work with's kids. It turns out it's a GREAT place to trick or treat! Lots of houses participate. You had tons of fun and came back with an overflowing bucket!

I'm happy to report this year's traditional double smooch went MUCH more smoothly than last year!!

I love you,

Mommy
